More Koudelka Monsters
I want to do a few more monsters before I work on my Cain story.
The dark young is a reference to Lovecraft's creatureShub Niggurath, the "goddess" of fertility. These young are the supposed spawn of her. While mentioned by Lovecraft, other authors have collectively designated these things in this form of hoved animal with a tangle of mouths and tentacles. A nice reference to Lovecraft but the game describes them as "The hated of the unjustly killed given form. Knowing only of hatred, it rages against the heavens, cursing all who walk beneath the stars, to languish and die." Seems like a good alternative to spawn of a goddess. It has a more spiritual sense that fits with the game rather than a direct Eldritch reference. This is also a boss which I was hoping to do at the end.
Alias
This is another boss, the first one that's mentioned in the wiki. I had to watch a video about this boss because the wiki was so spare with details. I didn't see much. The guy looks like an adult orphan begging for food on the streets. He fan hammers his gun at the characters when his turn comes up. It would have been more interesting if he was a doppelganger or something. So far as I can tell, I don't know what horror reference this boss relates to. In fact, after the fight, a cutscene plays where the other characters confront him. He tells them that he's innocent of killing people in the mansion. There's even this discussion about where he comes from and whether or not they should kill him. One of the characters straight up shoots the guy dead to the surprise of the others.
Another creature I don't recognize. The Demonic Bead has these scythe arms around it. Looks like another cannon fodder monster. But the wiki says it speaks in a strange alien language.
Doppelgangers. Speaking of doppelgangers, each character has one representing their attributes. For Koudelka, it is her lonliness and need to be loved.
