Attempt 6

I've decided to come up with stories about what happened to me while I was away from work. I'll tell each person a different story to add to the confusion. 
First, I was hunted down by cannibals after skydiving into the Pacific Ocean.
Second, I was running from the cops after I was framed by a one armed man of killing my wife. 
Finally, I decided to protest against work by staging a coup and not coming into work

I'll probably do none of these ideas. Honestly, I'm in so much pain right now I can barely write. Tomorrow I call the tooth people and hopefully they can get me in asap. I haven't been writing too much lately, but I did get a lot of reading in. I've been fininish up "Haunted" by Chuck Palaniuk. Like many novels, the cover promises a lot in your imagination but fails to deliver. I'm reading essays that are well written but aren't really scary. More disturbing than actually scary. I'm tired of writing every day but I want to get better. I push myself way too hard, harder than most people. 

Why do I want to get better? Maybe it's because I hope that I can write my way out of poverty. I hope that my effort pays off and I can live a better life like Stephen King. That's the dream but for now it's just a dream. God my tooth is sore. I can't even play video games. For most of the day I was pain free but I just had to lie down for a nap and sleep on my right side. It hurts in that throbbing kind of way. Once I'm done with that I'm reading the artists way and who knows where I'll go after that.

I just remembered what I wanted to write about. I've been playing this 3DS game called Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King. I played this game back when I was in highschool and loved it but I don't think it's a game that could be made today. It's too grindy. I spent hours raising money by defeating monsters only to spend it all in one spot. All of it. Gone. I don't mind it when games do this but it happens every time that I make it to another castle or town. I have to upgrade my equipment but selling to old stuff barely covers the entry fee if you know what I mean. Despite this flaw, I still love the game. It's got art by Akira Toriama of Dragon Ball Z fame. The Dragon Quest game series was always more popular in Japan than America due to Toriama's fame over there. But with his rise in popularity over here and the introduction to the game series, the games have become more popular. They all folow the same formula of the hero trying to destroy the demon king or whatever. Not a big story to write about but it wouldn't hurt to put a marker on the map of where to go next. I swear I get lost every time I go out. And you get to marry a princess. Spoilers. I don't care. I'm in too much pain right now. I'm going to take a nap.

I see a pattern of each story in Chamber's story of the themes around the King wanning away with each entry. This collection has the bare bones of what could be considered a reference.  For example, The Green Room mentions a character with a powdered face. This could be similar to a pale mask. But the analogies are so thin here that it's difficult to draw connections.

Silksong Thoughts

I've completed the first Hollow Knight about four years ago. I was going to replay it but then forgot all the deaths and headaches the game gave me. It's not a bad game, if anything, it's an amazing game. But jumping through hoops all over again with no guidance isn't what I would call a fun time for the second round. This new game feels like Super Mario Bros. The Lost Worlds. America never got the true edition of Super Mario Bros. 2. Instead, we got a reskin of Doki Doki Panic with Mario characters plastered on. And this was done for a good reason: Super Mario Bros. 2 The Lost Worlds suck. There's never been such a spike in difficulty between games in a series before or since. You are expected to make calculations based on the sudden change in wind to time your jumps, navigate ice-covered platforms and take on suped up enemies. This is how Silk Song feels to me. A Forgotten Legacy, Nonfiction

Of course my interests in Lovecraft are for his Cthulhu stories but what about his non fiction? Lovecraft, being an amateur scientist, completed several books on astronomy specifically on the Moon and Mars and other heavenly occurrences. He kept a magazine for Rhode Island for nearly five years and for some reason had a book about smelting. It's easy to forget that there's more to Lovecraft than the stories he wrote. I wonder if he had any influence on the scientific world. It's more likely that this was akin to a youtuber making videos on their favorite subject. Or similar to what I'm doing with so few, if any, viewers. That's okay with me, this blog is by and for me.
