The Hate Train

I'm not much of a tennis fan. My dad was big into it when he was younger so we watch the occasional game. It's not a big deal but the US Open was on so we watched a little while I was visiting. Of course, the biggest event wasn't the outburst by a US player after losing or the game between Okasa and Coco but a CEO who snagged a signed cap from a kid. Now, I don't know the CEO or what his motivations might have been but it seems that this has blown up in his face to the point of destroying the man and all that he's worked for. I'm not defending him, but I think that what he did may have been taken out of context. The internet is always ready for a kill. The second the smell blood people swoop in like sharks and rip apart the remains. Whether or not it was a misunderstanding on the CEO's part or an act of greed it seems the net has blown up in his face. So, I looked into the guy behind the cap theft and found out that the man has a family and is the CEO of a major corporation. I think he's into construction. This act caught on film will likely destroy what's ever left of him despite his apology. It also seems that the internet has decided to put words in his mouth and claim that the CEO blamed the kid for not being fast enough to grab the cap. That's sounds like the internet, it's easier to believe the narrative that CEO's are big bad guys who steal from children rather than it is to assume it was a misunderstanding or a bad act from a normally good guy. Is he a good guy? I don't know, nor do I care. I just dont' want to be on the hate train. I see what that kind of attack does to a person. As part of the generation that grew up scrutinized by the SJW's and the extreme feminists, I know that it's easy to hate someone. Hate is such an easy thing to give to someone and I don't know if that's human nature or something we've developed because of social media. Recently, I've been learning about Cain from the Genesis story of Cain and Able. After killing his brother, Cain wanders the earth with a mark on his head indicating that he's a murderer. He cries out to God about how no one will approach him or work with him because of the mark, yet God assures him that he won't die and that He is still with Cain. Isn't that interesting? The first murderer can still communicate with God. It seems like God would shun him like humanity but instead God reaches out to Cain. It's the opposite of our narture seems to incline us to do. I'm not going to reach out to this CEO, I'm sure he's had enough of social media, but I'm not going to hate on him any more. When you boil people down to one action, you can only see the evil or good in them. There are video's of this CEO talking about integrity and loyalty to his employees, that doens't sound like an evil man to me. Maybe all his words were fluff but I don't think anyone can make it to the top by being an evil person. I'm aware that there are people at the top financially and politically who have stepped on many heads to get to where they are, but those actions came with results that people seemed to like, such as making more money. I'm rambling, but I know how hatred can spiral into this need for the person to be sacrificed. It reminds me of Shirly Jackson's "The Lottery." There's this need inside of us to destroy what we percieve to be evil and we put these victims on this alter to some imaginary god in hopes that it proves to it or to ourselves that we're better than the person were about to sacrifice. People who become defined by one mistake or action caught on camera don't have recourse in this age of media. If it was some other time, he could have been forgotten to the ages but now the record shows this CEO as a monster who takes hats from children. So let's put the spotlight on me. I've done things publically I'm not proud of. I've been a Karen before, I've insulted people before. The autism doesnt help the miscomunications that spew out fo my mouth. People probably thought I was rude when I was trying to be polite or misunderstood my intents. It's rare that I purposefully try to hurt someone but I've still done it. My point is that, I'm not going to hate this man anymore. I've got enough on my plate to get done and in a world with real people to hate like Putin there is plenty of real monsters to get angry at. In fact, (and I'm not kidding) I pray for Putin as well. I think that God sends protection to people who get hate hurled at them. Instead of praying for God to smite this CEO, or Putin, I'm praying that God will align them with his plan. It's hard for me to believe but the battle isn't over flesh and blood but over spirits. Sometimes I think putting a bullet in Putin's head would solve all these problems with Russia and the Ukraine. Maybe it would be a solution but I don't know if it's the right one. I'm rambling again but I don't know if Putin's death would fix all the problems in that area of the world.

To sum up, I think I'll be praying for this CEO that he aligns with God. I don't want to see him kill himself or lose everything because of one mistake. How much of an apology or banishment would it take before the internet was satisfied? There's not enough blood to shed to make up for a mistake caught on film and if it won't satisfy the world, what will?
